Patients with Left Ventricular (LV) Dysfunction: Is OPCAB Advantageous over Conventional CABG in our settings?

چکیده
Objective: Off-pump CABG (OPCAB) is a well established surgical procedure in Bangladesh now. Majority of Bangladeshi patients having CABG are undergoing OPCAB procedures these days. Patients with left ventricular dysfunction are known to be particularly at risk of complications after surgical coronary revascularization. Off-pump procedure can be considered in these patients, avoiding the potentially damaging effect of cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB). Patients with left ventricular dysfunction are thus thought to be ideal OPCAB candidates. This study is undertaken to check the advantage of OPCAB over conventional CABG of Bangladeshi patients with left ventricular

Off Pump Coronary Artery Bypass (OPCAB) is Safe & Cost Effective in High Risk Patients
Background: Cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) is associated with diffuse systemic inflammatory responses during and after cardiac surgery and is associated with increased morbidity & mortality associated with Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting CABG, particularly in high risk sub set of patients i.e., advanced age, severe left ventricular dysfunction, renal failure, etc. The purpose of this study is to ...

Extended abstract Echocardiographic Evaluation of Left Ventricular Function and Geometry in Pediatric Patients with Kidney Transplantation Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is an important, leading cause of mortality and morbidity in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) as well as in renal transplant recipients. Cardiovascular complications become more important in children because of the i...
متن کاملOn-Pump Beating Coronary Artery Bypass in High Risk Coronary Patients
Background: There are some conflicting results with Conventional Coronary Artery Bypass Grafts (CCABG) with arrested heart in coronary high-risk patients. Moreover, performing off-pump CABG in these cases may be associated with serious complications. The objective of this study is to evaluate the efficacy of the on-pump beating CABG (OPBCABG) in coronary high-risk patients in comparison with th...
متن کاملComparison of Treatment Outcomes in Off-pump Coronary Artery Bypass Graft and Medical Therapy in Patients with Triple-vessel Coronary Artery Disease and Severe Ventricular Dysfunction
Introduction: Heart failure is a major hazard for public health. Despite recent advance in medical therapy, there is not enough information on the outcome of off-pump coronary artery bypass (OPCAB) and medical therapy on the patients with severe ventricular dysfunction and triple-vessel (CAD). This study aimed to compare treatment outcomes and mortality rate in patients undergoing off-pump coro...
متن کاملOutcomes for off-pump coronary artery bypass grafting in high-risk groups: a historical perspective.
BACKGROUND The outcomes of off-pump coronary artery bypass (OPCAB) and conventional coronary artery bypass grafting with cardiopulmonary bypass (cCABG) have been compared in detail. Similarly, several reports have examined outcomes of high-risk subsets of patients in OPCAB as a selection strategy for reducing morbidity and mortality compared to cCABG. We undertook a retrospective study comparin...
